This time, I really was blown away by the way in which designer, Alice Etro fused oriental influences into the Larusmiani women’s collection for Spring/Summer next year.
Intricate blue prints seen on porcelain vases and floral motifs in vibrant colours meet rich silk fringing, cashmere, fur, lace and organza to create ankle-skimming foulard pants, long and short caftans with central fringed panels as well as a classic double-breasted trench coat cut from a sheer, floral organza.
Silk fringing also hangs from adorable little handbags. It’s a truly different concept and while it will sweep the floor if petite me had to wear it, I can imagine that a supermodel would look enchanting accessorising with something so unconventional. I guess I could wind the silk strands around one arm…
