Chromatic Passion from Colombo Via Della Spiga

For Spring /Summer 2014, this historic brand serves up more exceptionally crafted leather bags and accessories, this time designed by the experienced Gian Luca Lera.

I was accompanied around the boutique and introduced to each individual creation cut from crocodile, lizard or snake skin and then infused with vivid colours to achieve a modern, matt appearance.

Giotto-esque rounded handles are inspired by the forties while the curved geometries of the bags in apricot, desert sand, Baltic blue, sage and chalk grey are moulded after the Venus de Milo and the wavy feminine figure. Smaller bags; pochettes and minaudières – based on triangular foundations – are lined in lizard and snake skin to contrast with the brightly coloured exterior, and are framed by visible metal “piping”.

For every bag, there’s a matching accessory which will carry the vibrant colour and rich texture throughout your look. Choose from an assortment of belts, key rings, wristbands and wallets.
