Classic & colourful designer courts

A shoe shape that looks splendid with any outfit; skirts of all lengths, skinny or flare trousers, denims, leggings and evening gowns…

Court shoes are strapless, easy to slip your feet in and out of, and the heel flatters your figure instantly. I did some hunting for classic styles which stand out from the crowd with an injection of vibrant colour, patterned detail or beadwork.

Dolce & Gabbana

Ruby red crystals turn this fabric footwear into fiery, regal works of art. No wonder it’s put on display in a velvet-lined jewellery box. Want it? Find these on Milan’s Via Della Spiga.

Valentino

This arabesque pair appears to be edible… As if a pastry chef took sweet time to masterfully ice swirls of cream onto the lambskin surface. It has a 10 cm heel and medium-sized bag to match. See it for yourself on Via Montenapoleone.

Sergio Rossi

Two of my favourite colours feature in this fun footwear. I love the ribbed orange toe on the dual-colour ‘Claire’ pair and the raised back on the fuchsia ‘Oblo’ pump which boasts an 11 cm stiletto. Visit the Sergio Rossi boutique on Via Montenapoleone.

Casadei

The patent leather used is so glossy that these perfectly designed shoes seem almost liquid. The ravishing red pair is made for the red carpet with it’s extremely high heels and matching clutch bag but the grape and dark green fit right in with the season’s hottest trends. Take a look at more beautiful Casadei pairs on Via Sant Andrea in the Quadrilatero Della Moda.

Bruno Magli

Purple paints this glamorous pony hair shoe. I like the pointy toe as well as the jewel top which lends a bit of bling. Get it at the boutique on the corner of Via Montenapoleone and Via Manzoni.

One shape, many interpretations. The common denominator on all these Parisian pairs is the steep curvature of the heel but what makes each one unique is the difference in exterior detail. The pink pair is fit for a princess but I prefer the simpler black and silver or monotone red. Check out the other interpretations on Via Sant Andrea.

Miu Miu

I bet you would be able to run a marathon in these quality pairs with their tiny heels. Perfect for days when you need to be on your feet and look elegantly smart simultaneously, consider owning it in every colour. These are available at the Miu Miu boutique on Via Della Spiga or at the Vierre multi-brand store on Via Montenapoleone.
